September Dinner & Speaker

Topic: How-to Interview

Speaker: Carolyn Leeper

September 24, 2014
If you are going to write an article about the person sitting next to you, what questions would you ask? What will be the focus of the article: personal life, family background, career, latest accomplishment? How did he get where he is now? What was her earlier life like? What does that person want others to know? And what will the reader want to know? What is your message? How long will your article be? Unless you’re doing a complete biography, you can’t cover everything, so you have to choose you content carefully.

Carolyn Leeper is a freelance writer and has been contributing personal profile articles about local residents to the Northwest Retirement Magazine for several years. During her 25 years as a travel agent she wrote how-to articles for travel trade magazines and newsletters. Her latest book is “19 Remarkable Northwest Women.” An insatiable reader, she loves mysteries, thrillers, and biographies. Carolyn is a past state president of the Business & Professional Women (BPW/WA) and a strong supporter of working women.
