Chuckanut Writers Conference Call for Volunteers

chuckanutChuckanut Writers Conference Volunteer Needs:

Agent helpers/timers (3-4 volunteers needed): responsibilities include timing pitch and marketing sessions and being the “go to” person for one of our agents, Felicia Eth and Liz Kracht, or our marketing specialist, Alice Acheson.

Breakout Session Hosts (1-2 volunteers needed): responsibilities include being the “go to” person for faculty during their presentations, ensuring proper room set up, timing of breakout session, and distributing and collecting session feedback forms.

There are already more volunteers than there is space for volunteers, so application doesn’t guarantee you a spot. Volunteers get to attend this awesome conference for free. So who wouldn’t want to volunteer!

To apply as a volunteer fill out the volunteer application form and return it to Anna Wolff.

Also note that the early bird registration deadline for attending the Chuckanut Writers Conference is coming up on May 15th! You can save $30 by registering before then!

Make your reservations for January 23rd Dinner and Speaker

Come join us for Copyright in the Age of Internet: What you need to know! with Peggy Watt, professor of Mass Media Law at W.W.U. Wednesday, January 23rd 5:45-8:30 at Nicki’s Bella Marina.

The cost of your dinner is up to you since we are simply ordering off the menu at Nicki’s Bella Marina, however the seating is limited so we do need people to make reservations. Making a reservation is easy, all it takes is filling in our little web form with your name and number of guests.

Remember when enjoying the dinner and speaker presentation that the restaurant is very graciously providing the room for free and hopes to make enough money from our orders to justify reserving the room for our events. So please order something off the menu if you can. This generous arrangement can easily be taken away if the restaurant does not feel it is worth their while.

RSVP now!

WWP Dinner & Speaker: New Date, New Location!

The regular WWP dinner and speaker mettings have been in a state of flux for a few months, as some of you may have noticed.  But now, it looks like we might have finally settled on something great.

The new location is going to be: Upstairs at Nicki’s Bella Marina, located at 2615 South Harbor Loop Drive, Squalicum Harbor. This will eliminate the need for Paypal reservations and allow all guests to order off the menu as they see fit. This is in a private room so the restaurant noise will not be a problem. The restaurant hopes to see at least $250 of food and beverage purchased for our use of the room, and this should not be a problem, but please keep in mind that they are graciously not charging us for the room, so please keep this in mind when you are making your food order.

The new date is because our new hosts already have a prior arrangement for our regular meeting dates, so we have changed to the 4th Wednesday of the month, making January’s meeting on the 23rd.

Hope to see everyone at the next meeting!
