November Dinner & Speaker: Library Enquiries

Topic: The Title Starts with ‘The’ and Other Library Inquiries

Speaker: Richard Little & Linda Q. Lambert

Date: Nov. 8, 2017
Time: 6pm – 8:30 pm (Doors open at 5:30. Happy Hour prices apply from 5:30-6pm)

Writer Richard Little (retired lawyer) and writer Linda Q. Lambert (retired librarian) will present five (or maybe ten!) ways libraries can help you become a better writer. Expect to learn about how Bellingham and Whatcom County libraries can assist you with reliable research sources (think databases and improved Googling strategies), offer you sanctuary as “Third Places,” and provide resources and programs you may not know about––like where to market your work and find grants.

Dick Little is a WCLS Foundation board member and happily willing to share more than you ever knew about our award-winning, county-wide library system. His career, post UC Berkeley and Hastings Law School, included legal work in “the other Washington,” a private law practice, the Bellingham city attorney’s office, and lobbying in D.C. and Olympia. His publications and projects include Postcards from the Road–Stories, a novel being copy-edited, and a second collection of short stories.

Linda Lambert published an article at 16, a poem at 26, and a guidebook at 31. After that, aside from a piece about birthing a child in a Volkswagen, she replaced literary productivity with raising 7 children. Retirement from the WCC Library has allowed her time to complete an MFA in creative non-fiction and to begin work on a memoir, Untold.
