Chuckanut Writers: “Writing Stronger Stories with Facts, Fiction and/or Both” with Jim Lynch

Jim Lynch CW emailChuckanut Writers, a collaboration between Village Books and Whatcom Community College, invites you to join writer-in-residence Jim Lynch for two days of writing instruction, consultation, workshopping, connection, and a moveable feast at Village Books in Lynden on April 17 and 18! Registration fee includes a copy of Jim’s brand new novel, Before the Wind, that will be officially released April 19.

Sunday, April 17, 2-4 PM: Two hours of instruction will include advice on how to improve your story ideas, settings, characters, dialogue, research, reader momentum, and more. Will also include useful writing prompts as well as valuable survival tips for being a productive, sane, and improving writer.

Monday, April 18 (time selected at registration): Meet with Jim for a 15-minute session to discuss your writing project/ideas or to hear his feedback on a couple pages. While awaiting your turn, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with some of your fellow students.

Jim Lynch won national journalism awards before becoming a full-time fiction writer twelve years ago. His first three novels, The Highest Tide, Border Songs (set in Whatcom County), and Truth Like the Sun were all performed on stage and won prizes. Join Jim Lynch at Lynden’s Jansen Art Center on April 18 at 7 PM for his debut appearance for Before the Wind.
