Born in India, Debu Majumdar received a doctorate degree in physics from SUNY at Stony Brook. His first book, From the Ganges to the Snake River, a creative non-fiction, interweaves Indian culture with north-west American reality. It was first published by Idaho State University and later by Caxton Press. His four children’s books (Viku and the Elephant series), set in village India, explore universal themes such as friendship, perseverance, caring for the forests and the animals, and bullying. Sacred River is his first novel, written from a background of India’s ancient heritage. He and his wife live in
