March 13th Meeting Mike Lawson A few things learned

Mike will talk about some of the things he’s learned, experiences he’s had and mistakes he made in the course of publishing sixteen books.

Mike Lawson is the award-winning author of sixteen novels published by Doubleday, Penguin, and Grove Atlantic.  He has been nominated five times for the Barry Award for Best Thriller and has twice won the Friends of Mystery Award.  The thirteen books in his Joe DeMarco political thriller series revolve around a character who is a fixer for a semi-corrupt politician. The latest DeMarco novel, House Arrest, was published in February 2019.  It was just nominated for the Edgars, Best Novel category.

The first of the three books in his Kay Hamilton series, titled Rosarito Beach, involving a rogue DEA agent, was optioned for television.  Prior to turning to writing full time, Mike was a nuclear engineer employed by the Navy and he lives in the Pacific Northwest.
